My story is an incredible one…
Anyone who knows me, knows that my whole life I wanted to be a Dentist. Ever since I was little, whenever anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would always say that I wanted to be a Dentist. Well, when I was in my early 20’s, I had a bad horse accident where I was bucked off and actually fractured my low back (an L5 Spondylolisthesis to be exact) which caused me a lot of pain as you can imagine. Then not too long after, I was involved in a car accident where I was hit from behind on the highway at a pretty high speed (3 cars were racing late at night and I got caught in the middle). Needless to say I was a wreck and I was only 24. My back was broken and I had such bad headaches and neck pain literally everyday. IT WAS AWFUL. I tried everything. I went to numerous different therapists, was recommended some pretty strong pain killers (which I never took) and I wasn’t getting any better. One day my sister (one of 3 haha) said to me, “Bro you need to see my Chiropractor.” My first thought was… what’s a Chiropractor going to do for me? I had nothing to lose, so I booked the appointment.
Little did I know my life was about to change…
On my first visit (and I was a skeptic) I had a full assessment (including x-rays) and I was taught about Subluxation and what was happening to my body and nervous system from all the traumas in my life and it was the first time it actually made sense to me “why” I was suffering and “what” was the cause of all of it. I was taught about what an “adjustment” is (which made a lot of sense to me again) and I started on my Chiropractic Journey finally with some HOPE which is something I didn’t have previously.
In a short time (like literally not even a month) I started seeing some incredible changes. My headaches were gone and my low back didn’t have constant pain and the numbness and shooting pain in my legs was gone. I was literally blown away and I’ll never forget the day… I said to myself, “I’m going to be a Chiropractor so I can change lives just like it changed mine.” That was 2001.
And the rest is history. Now, 16 years into practice, I see lives change literally every… single…day. People share their incredible journeys with me now and it drives my passion even more!
Heres a little more about me…
I grew up in Burnaby BC, went to SFU where I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree, then went onto University of Western States in Portland, Oregon for 4 additional years where I completed my Doctor of Chiropractic Degree. I then moved to Dublin, Ireland for 3 years where I was in private practice and I travelled all over Europe and now I have been back home for 13 years. I have had some amazing mentors teach me some amazing things and I love passing them on to patients. I have travelled extensively throughout Canada, the USA and Europe constantly learning so I can be the best for my patients.
I love adjusting my patients every day and educating people on how to be healthy and what it means to be healthy. I welcome new patients from Pitt Meadows and surrounding areas and I make time to help as many people as possible.
My main goal is to educate the public on the benefits of Corrective Chiropractic Care and how Chiropractic adjustments help to restore function to the Central Nervous System. It’s not about neck pain, back pain, migraine headaches or any other symptoms, it’s all about the overall function of the Nervous System. When our body is functioning optimally, our body is healing optimally and our symptoms begin to disappear.
I’ve worked with a lot of people in all walks of life from new born babies just a few days old to people in their 90’s. I’ve even had the opportunity of working with a lot of celebrities too, which was a lot of fun and such an amazing experience for me, although adjusting the 400 pound Big Show from the “WWE Smackdown Tour” was a tad bit of a challenge, but if I can get his spine moving I can get any spine moving.
My passion is changing lives and allowing people to live life to their full potential. I love seeing the overall improvement in patients when they thought (or were told) there was nothing that could be done to help them. The power of the body to heal itself is amazing and sometimes through life we just get a little stuck (well our spine does) and when we get things moving and back to normal, we just sit back and listen as people share how their lives are changing… JUST LIKE MINE DID.
I look forward to meeting you and showing you how your journey towards better health is the most incredible journey.
