One reason the health and well-being of the public suffers today is that most people do not truly understand what health really is. Therefore that which they believe cannot possibly be true, and that which they do for their health cannot completely work. Only through understanding what health really is can you actually create the right wellness philosophy and look for what really are the correct lifestyle approaches.

SO WHAT IS HEALTH?

The basic, core definition of health is described as a state of “optimal function.” So ultimately, if you wish to begin seeking health you must first find out what it is that causes you to function normally (or optimally).

Interest in biking, swimming, running, doing yoga, lifting weights, taking supplements, and eating the right diet for your body type has reached a historic high. This recent fitness and nutrition fascination has been perpetuated by the current realization many are coming to that it is vital to play an active role in your health if you plan on keeping it or getting it back. All of these activities and many more:

  • Enhance the overall well-being of your body
  • Help you to overcome and prevent illness
  • Give you energy
  • Improve your appearance
  • Can lengthen your life

Yet, none of these cause you to function. Case in point: taking a corpse out for a long bike ride or feeding it vitamin C does nothing to create health or function.

To find what really causes you to function you have to go to your anatomy and not to the gym or the health food store. What “causes” function is the Central Nervous System or CNS. The CNS is composed of the brain, spinal cord and spinal nerves and it totally controls all functions and healing in the human body. As the central generator of all life, it needs maximum protection. Thus, the CNS is located inside the armor-like bones of the spinal column and skull.

To have “normal function”–and as a result be considered healthy–the Central Nerve System must work without damage or interference. The most common, and in fact very likely way, to interfere or cause damage to the Central Nervous System is with the spine. “Abnormal” position of the head and spine and subluxation (misalignment of individual vertebrae) will interfere with the CNS. This interference will cause the organs of the body not to function or heal “normally.” By definition, the result is abnormal or less than optimal health.

Vital information travels from the brain and spinal cord to all of the parts of the body. But, not only does information travel down the nerve, but at the same time information from the peripheral parts of the body is being sent back to the brain and spinal cord. When this information is interfered with, a problem arises in the body.
–Daniel J. Murphy, DC; Spinal Biomechanics, Harrison, 1992, p.366

Before any body part or any body function can be described as “normal” or “abnormal,” healthy or unhealthy, we must first have a clear definition of what “normal” is. For example, if normal blood pressure is 120/80, then a person with blood pressure of 150/100 would have high, “abnormal” blood pressure. In only the last few years medical, anatomical, mathematical and engineering researchers have been able to clearly define “normal” spinal alignment. This research has been published in the world’s most prestigious medical journals and presented at the leading spinal symposiums around the world.

There are two proven ways to evaluate normal or abnormal spinal alignment:

1. Postural examination (posture is the window to the spine)

2. X-rays

Upon performing numerous tests with the highest technology testing equipment I have invested in, we are able to determine a recommended course of care with the intent to correct the spinal misalignment (Subluxation), which is putting devastating pressure on the nervous system. Much like braces correcting teeth, research has shown that a proper course of Chiropractic Care can correct spinal motion and function so the body can properly re-align itself. This is all governed by the innate intelligence of the body and when we can unleash the power that is already present within the body, we simply watch people’s lives change… one adjustment at a time.

Dr. Frank is one of a kind. He listens to understand and cares to see you at your best, which is integral to any patients healing journey. He is honest and aspires to educate everyone on the benefits of chiropractic care. Frank will walk through your journey with you no matter the length of time, inspire hope and will support you along the way with a side of humor and optimism! to be able to see results on an x-ray is very empowering in combination with a treatment plan. In fact, after a few visits and lots of patience I notice that I am able to sleep more restfully, have less discomfort in my back and notice a slight improvement in my balance when working out.

Dr. Frank took very good care of me during my visits. With it being my first time at a chiropractic, he made sure to explain the process in detail and educated me along the way. It felt like the teacher carefully explaining a lesson to a student, which I felt to be the most helpful for me and created ultimate comfort throughout the appointments and I’m feeling better than ever all thanks to Harris road chiropractic I will definitely be recommending my friends and family!

Dr. Frank is a one of a kind, once in a lifetime type incredibly special person. His care and passion shows so clearly in his work, so much so that it makes you want to take more care of yourself. I hadn’t felt like myself in a long time, and had lost hope that things could get better. That ALL changed. I’m so grateful and lucky to have crossed paths with such a gifted human. I cannot say enough about him- words don’t do justice. His energy is contagious and he takes such amazing care of each and every one of his patients. Some fun facts about Dr Frank:- he’s a cancer!-he’s got state of the art, incredible equipment with which he does extensive (and cool) testing-he’s passionate about educating his patients; so not only does he know what’s going on inside, you do too.For the first time in a long time, I’m excited about my future and that’s all because of Dr. Frank. But don’t take my word for it. Just satisfy your curiosity and meet him once! I cannot thank him enough, and we’ve only just gotten started! If you’re looking for a sign, this is it!

I've had a lot of bad happenings and injuries in my life... awaiting spinal fusion. My last resort was to entrust in a man I knew nothing about.. but did my research and followed Dr.Frank. Took a deep breath and made the call.... my "Hope n Faith" were restored the first time I met him... restored my belief that one person can make a difference and make a positive change in another person... a man who has a heart.. a man who actually cares about YOU as a patient and a person.. a man so invested and passionate everyday he wakes about what he does and how he can make a difference today, tomorrow and every other day.Do I recommend Dr.Frank?100% I do.I already feel on top of the world compared to how I walked in the first day.. hunched over.. side saddling in my seat.. anxiety through the roof... Dr.Frank has been my angel.. my second chance... my new Hope. I am thankful everyday for the care I receive... my emotions are true.. my feelings are 100%.Don't hesitate on making that call. You will not regret it.You get adjusted.. Your life gets adjusted.. win win.

I broke 3 vertebra in my upper mid spine, I’ve been in a few car accidents, and had a baby after the age of 35. (Without previous injury, the baby might have not caused any lasting discomfort.) With poor “new mom” sleeping habits, and “new mom” posture (always looking down at baby or doing dishes), I was in a lot of constant pain! I’ve been going to Dr. Frank for about 2 months, and my intense daily headaches are gone. The tingling in my legs and hands is gone. My sleep has greatly improved, and walking doesn’t feel so awkward (I hadn’t even realized it had been awkward until it wasn’t!). It took my little one a few visits to feel comfortable with being there. Initially she freaked out when I got my first adjustment, but Dr. Frank was never phased. After a few visits we brought my husband with us and that seemed to make it all better! Now she’s giving Dr. Frank high fives! LolMy body hasn’t felt this agile in 3 years! I’m kitchen dancing again, and power cleaning while I do it!

I have been to many chiropractors and Dr.Frank is the first to do full body scans and figure out what your body is doing before correcting you...The staff is very friendly and the office is super cool. Dr.Frank is interactive with his patients as a group which I also find very cool. I highly recommend going to Harris Road Chiropractic!

Dr. Frank is hands down the best chiropractor I have ever been treated by! He goes above and beyond with his kindness and caring for all of his patients, and gives top notch adjustments.I had been scared to see a chiropractor because I previously broke my neck and suffer from MANY different symptoms... but after meeting Dr. Frank at my gym and looking up his practice online, I was sure that if I was going to try chiropractic treatment again that it would be with Dr. Frank at Harris Road Chiropractic. He has made such a difference on my recovery both physically and mentally. I always leave his office feeling better than when I came in. Dr.Frank just does things differently than other chiropractors, and by different, I mean better. He takes X-Rays and does tests to look at the big picture of what is going on with your body before he adjusts you. He doesn’t just go in blind and start cracking like most. I would recommend Dr. Frank to absolutely anyone with any kind of pain, soreness, stiffness, even headaches. His adjustments make you feel right again. Aligned and happy. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Dr. Frank has been an absolute blessing in my life.

There truly is not enough space to leave all the information about this office where to start..... The staff and atmosphere are so amazing. They are very accommodating, always greet you with a smile. It is lovely to see their beautiful smiling faces. I really appreciate how I feel like family at this place. I enjoy the check in chats with Dr. Frank, he makes me feel like I matter and I am not just another patient. He truly cares about my well-being. Dr. Frank is extremely knowledgeable about what he does and very thorough in his treatment plans. Dr. Frank also shares with you and helps to educate you on what is specifically wrong with you and how to fix it. He is very transparent and upfront with no pressure. I have only had a few treatments and can honestly say I feel healthier and like a new me. I am not stiff as much nor as sore as much. Each appointment only makes me feel more improved. Dr. Frank has given me the hope that I am not stuck like this forever. Trust me when say this is the clinic to go to for all your chiropractic needs.
After only a few adjustments, I had the best trail ride on my horse in months, if not years. After a long time of feeling stiff and generally 'off' in my body, I feel my energy is starting to return, I can't tell you how good it feels, and can't thank Dr Frank enough! The practice is extremely well run, efficient clean and I highly recommend Dr Frank to anyone.

Thanks Frank, you made my quality of life so much better.

I started seeing Dr Frank over a year and a half ago. I am a dental hygienist and it puts incredible amounts of strain on my back. I had been working only a year but was sure that I would only last 5 at the most. Before I started seeing him regularly I would end my day, and sometimes even my morning, in pain and in tears and would be reduced to laying in bed at home. Since seeing him regularly, I am no longer in constant pain, and if I do have a patient who causes me ergonomic challenges, I am able to recover much more quickly. I am confident that I will be able to continue in my chosen profession for many more years to come. Dr Frank is also a wonderful person, who genuinely cares about your day and your life. He interacts with all of his patients in a calm and friendly manner. He genuinely cares for his patients and expresses that through remembering conversations and life details from months ago and taking the time to talk with anyone undergoing stress or a difficult situation in life. This translates to every patient feeling important and well cared for. Additionally, he has a passion for his career that really shows through, from his extra conferences that he attends, to adjusting office hours to accommodate more people, to educating every patient on spinal and nervous system health. His staff is friendly and courteous and also makes the effort to have every patient feel at home in the office.
